student (Political Science Major/English Literature Minor), meets with John Kerry at the Rochester Airport,
Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2004. Presidential Candidate John Kerry told Ryan to
continue his education and stay the course on his political interests. Kerry also autographed a TIME magazine for Ryan.

The KEY Club donated famous American documents to Winona Senior High School
and placed them on two walls outside the Social Studies Department, creating
the "Freedom Shrine." Representative Pelowski was the keynote
speaker for the Freedom Shrine Dedication. He spoke about the importance of
"we the people"in our democracy.

Representative Pelowski participated in the Memory Walk for the
Alzheimer's Association. At the event, Jason Frickson drew
a cartoon depicting Gene at the capitol.

The Septemper program of the Hiawatha Valley Civil War Round Table was
presented by Repesentative Gene Pelowski
entitled "Lincoln's Greatest Speech, The Second Inaugural" based on
the book of the same title by Ronald C. White. The presentation focused on Lincoln's ability to
have a tremendous impact, on a complicated subject, with an economy of words,
that approach almost poetry; yet transformed and guided a nation through its
most difficult crisis.

Representative Gene Pelowski
was unanimously elected as Chair of the Rules Reform Task force during the
newly-formed Task force's initial meeting. The Task Force is made up of
members of the House, Senate, Governor's office, State Agencies and private
sector.

honors of Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus during the Centennial Year of the
Fourth Degree, the Great Jubilee Year of 2000, in an Exemplification honoring
Msgr. Henry Speck in Owatonna
MN on October 14. Gene was
sponsored by Jim Theis and Stan Walch of the Winona Knights of Columbus.
