Family Scrapbook Golf Traditions

The game of golf plays a special role in the Pelowski family.  Gene Pelowski Sr. (Representative Pelowski's father) and his brother Paul Pehler were the Golf  Professionals at Westfield Golf Course in Winona. Later, his father went on  to Red Wing Country Club where Gene's brother Chuck is now the Greenskeeper.

Paul's son Paul Jr. is currently the owner and Golf Professional at Plainview Golf Course and Gene is the Golf Professional at Walnut Grove Golf Course where his son Ryan won the Club Championship this year.

Gene's father recently received coverage in the Winona Daily News after a particularly good day out on the course with his son.

Ryan Pelowski, Dick Lande, Tim Penny, Gene Pelowski and Jim Schmidt display the purple WSU golf shirts worn for Minnesota State University Student Association scramble at Red Wing Country Club on August 8, 2002. The event raises money for the Tim Penny fellowship that funds internships for students in government. Tim Penny posed with the WSU team and wore a WSU shirt as a WSU alumni.

Pictured to the right is an ornate clock that Gene and his son Ryan  won at the Winona Occupational Resource Center Scramble in July 2002.  It is now proudly displayed above Gene's golf ball collection in his family's home.

Pictured by the 18th green of Cedar Valley Golf Course are JEFF BROKAW, CURT BITTLE, KURT LOSSEN and Gene Pelowski who shot a nine under par 63, Monday, August 26, 2002 in the Ted Foss Memorial Scramble .

The event is in honor of State Patrol Officer Ted Foss who was killed in the line of duty two years ago.
